ON A JOURNEY WITHOUT A DESTINATION?
Many teachers, coaches and parents encourage students to set goals, dream big, work hard. But what about the student who decides to be a doctor without the academics to accomplish medical school? The brilliant introvert who winds up working at a convenience store? Or the burnt-out college graduate who finds that with their psychology major they can work in a medical hospital or get a graduate degree? Choices made without exploring possibilities can create roadblocks in life.
The solution, then, is creating a plan that takes the whole person into consideration. Some students are sure they know what they want out of life. There is nothing worse than thinking you know where you’re going only to get there, and realize you HAVEN’T arrived.
Perseverance is an excellent trait. But isn’t it better to persevere toward the possible? And wouldn’t it be better if the possibilities fit the individual?
AIM ME: FUTURE MAPPING
For the student who KNOWS what they want, a Future Map checks goal validity, and creating a workable plan for achieving those goals. It’s a bit like insurance that the end will justify the education.
For the student who is going into school or coming out still unsure of what their career ought to look like, Future Mapping can provide guidance based on a proven analysis. Through the Highlands Battery, aim me reveals personal truths and processes the possibilities into a path.
Many people never realize their full potential. For the person with many talents that aren’t being put into play, Future Mapping can help draw out the best possibilities, and build hope into the equation, through a real plan.
Some people invest in dreams and expectations others have for them, without taking a look at the great individual potential they have. Others bank on athleticism, one injury short of a finished career. Sometimes the best Future Map is a back-up plan.
